Abusive Relationship - Women Must Stand Up!

 L.O.V.E

What is a healthy relationship?

As social beings, humans thrive on meaningful relationships that make life more fulfilling and purposeful. Healthy relationship is based on premises such as respect, trust, honesty, accountability and shared responsibility. People in positive relationships are generally affirming and supportive and show non-intimidating behavior towards one another even during challenging times. There are however, instances where intense feelings of care and concern transcend natural affection and abuses can take place.

What is an abusive relationship?

Abuses can take physical, verbal, emotional and even sexual forms. It can happen in any setting and relationship. A few possible signs that a person is being abused include unexplained bruises, bite marks, cuts and wounds on the body, or that the person is showing a deep sense of guilt or fear without cause. However, not all abuses are obvious and blatant as some can be subtle. It may not be easy to detect abuses as they could be under the guises of love and affection. As such, it is important that you recognize the tell-tale signs that you are being abused and seek professional help.

Possible signs of warning

· The person frequently belittles you or makes you feel unworthy

· Controls your time and movement or limits your choices excessively

· Constantly gets jealous or angry and accuses you of not spending time with him/ her

· Deliberately distorts the facts and assigns blame to you

· Makes sexual advances or suggestions that you are uncomfortable with

· Discourages contacts with family and friends or isolating you from others

· Constantly makes you feel guilty for things you have not done or had done

· Threaten to self-harm or harm you if the person does not get what he/ she wants

Why seeking help is important

Abuses tend to get worse over time as the abusers get bolder and more controlling. The abusers may progress from subtle to overt harm and hurt. Constant barrage of threats, humiliation, or controlling behaviours are also mistreatments that some people face in an abusive relationship. It may eventually erode a person’s sense of self-worth and identity to a point that he or feels helpless and loses confidence in himself or herself. This is detrimental to the person’s quality of life and functional independence.

How you can help yourself

The first step towards freedom from abusive relationships is to recognise that you deserve to be treated with respect and not allow yourself to be subject to abuse of any kind.

Be aware of the warning signs and distinguish between affection and abuse. Realise that love does not involve inflicting pain, fear or guilt on others.

Seek immediate medical attention if you are assaulted so as to protect yourself from further harm and hurt. If the person touches any part of your body in a way that makes you uncomfortable, you should also confide in a member of the family or a close friend.

Have a social network of friends so that you have people to turn to for help at any time. They can also help to identify if you have been abused and provide support. It is important to avoid isolating yourself, especially if you are involved in an abusive relationship.

The person who abuses you needs help as well. It is likely that the abuser had also been victimised in the past but did not receive proper help and guidance. However, if the person refuses to seek professional help or change his or her abusive behaviour, it is prudent to make a decision to end the relationship. This may be painful but necessary for your personal well-being and safety.

Seek a safe haven and develop a support system after you leave the abuser so that you will not be alone. Sometimes abusers may be enraged when they have lost a sense of control over their victim. The support system may include community resources such as crisis hotlines, family service centres, professional counselling services or medical care. It is good to have these numbers readily at hand.

Seeking professional counselling for abusive relationships is preferred over talking to family or friends. Trained mental health professionals are better equipped to help identify areas of concern and develop coping strategies.

Useful Hotlines:

· Samaritans of Singapore (SOS): 1800 221 4444

· Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH): 1800 283 7019

· Family Service Centre (FSC): 1800 838 0100

· Touchline: 1800 377 2252

STOP VIOLENCE ON WOMEN!

I SINCERELY HOPE THAT ALL ABUSIVE MEN SHOULD HURT THEMSELVES IN EXTREME WAYS!! DIE YOU S.O.B & YOU SHALL ROT IN HELL!! NO MEN IS A MEN IF HE ABUSES A WOMEN!! NO WOMEN NEEDS TO BE TREATED LIKE DUST!! WOMEN PLEASE WAKE UP!!

Dealing with Death

D.E.A.T.H

Dealing with Death - Experienced By Everyone
Dealing with death is a life experience that no one wants to face. Life can often seem like swimming in the ocean during high tide. Even if we know how to swim and jump over the big waves at just the right time, when we least expect it-wham! We are broadsided, and find ourselves spinning and bouncing off the bottom of the ocean with a mouth full of sand. If we fight, it takes longer to get to the surface. But if we float with the current, we come right to the top. Floating when we are frightened is difficult. It takes trust and concentration. Dealing with the death of a loved one is similar. In order to cope, it takes trust.

Death is nearly always accompanied by questions - especially "why." Whether we are facing our own death, or the death of someone we love, we want answers. Why is this happening? What did I do to deserve this? Is there life after death? The sooner we learn to float - to trust - the easier it is to discover the answers we are seeking.

Dealing with Death - The True Position
When dealing with death, the solution is the same whether the death is our own or that of a loved one. As hard as it is to accept, we must understand that death is a part of life. As some have quipped, death is the only thing in life that comes with a 100% guarantee.

It is helpful to realized that while our bodies are mortal, all human beings are eternal - our soul and spirit will never die. Our spirits - the essence of who we are - will live forever!

God desires for us to spend eternity with Him, yet He has left that choice up to us. God has made all the provisions for us to be with Him forever. He has no greater love than
His love for us

Saturday Movie Night - Drag Me To Hell (26/09/09)

While watching Tv, I received a SMS from my Cousin brother that my 2nd sister and I are invited to his house to watch a Horror movie - Drag Me To Hell

Christine Brown has a good job, a great boyfriend, and a bright future. But in three days, she's going to hell.

I was really thinking the movie was gonna be very scary and I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Sighs.. I would say 1/4 had shocking scenes, other 1/4 had totally disgusting scenes ( the old women) & the other 1/2 of the movie was more or like cartoon.. I dare say her action was not so natural.
 I expected better.

My movie Rating is :  4/10

But we did eat n drink our hearts out.. lol

Microwave Popcorn - Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

PS : A little was burn thanks to someone!

We had also :

F&N Ice Cream Soda - Missed that yummy taste

Tuna Sandwich

Tidbits

Moral of the story even if the movie sucked, the right movie foods will cheer you up! Mine sure did!

Plus Size Modeling

Since from the age of  7, I always have been on the plus size. So I never thought of being a model when I was in my Teens.. But I loved to watch Models.. The walk they walk, The Turns they do, The proudness they have on their faces. But Me being like them.. Nah... Nope I always Loved Tyra Banks!!

She is such a BEAUTY

But sometime back, I came across something called " PLUS SIZE MODELING" . I was so happy that there are women who do plus size modeling but, sadly in  Singapore there is no market compared to US and UK.But if there ever is, I would love to join.

She's Pretty

She looks hot

Plus size women are Sexy too

I'm not saying that if your plus sized, that you should always be one.. But being healthy is also good. Exercise regularly

You would feel healthy and feel sexy too.
So what do you think? Shall I try for plus size Modeling or not?
